Annular Solar Eclipse stretching over Ship Rock
Presented as horizontal or vertical, with 10 signed and numbered prints of each orientation (total 20 prints in this size). Each print includes an information card and a Ring of Fire Eclipse Patch designed by the artist.
This sequence required significant planning, including a scouting trip to New Mexico, getting a flat tire in the middle of the Bad Lands, and finally backpacking in the camera and equipment on the morning of the eclipse.
If you have ever been to the SW tip of Colorado or NW New Mexico, Ship Rock is hard to miss. Seeing it for the first time last year on a trip to Mesa Verde, I knew I had to visit before too long, and what better place could there be to capture the Eclipse!
Equipment used: Canon RP camera with Canon RF 28mm f/2.8 lens and Rainbow Symphony solar filter on a fixed tripod. Images were captured at 15 second intervals. The eclipse sequence images presented are spaced 5 minutes apart. – Sorin, Oct 14, 2023
