A sturdy clamp for 90mm ZWO cooled cameras
Why we like the ZWO 90mm ring:
- Made for the big ZWO bodies: it fits the 90mm-diameter ASI2600MM/MC Pro and ASI6200MM/MC Pro, so a cooled camera can be clamped and supported on its own.
- Takes the weight off the lens mount: with a heavy camera behind a camera lens, the ring carries the camera so the lens adapter isn't the only thing holding it.
- Easy framing: loosen the knob and the camera turns in the felt-lined ring, then tighten it to lock.
- Worth knowing: the foot has two 1/4"-20 holes and six M4 holes for a dovetail bar or a photo tripod head. Bars and screws are sold separately. Smaller ZWO cooled cameras such as the ASI294 and ASI533 Pro need the 78mm ring.
The ZWO 90mm Ring for ASI Cooled Cameras (D90 holder ring) is a hinged aluminum clamp with a mounting foot. It holds a ZWO ASI2600MM Pro, ASI2600MC Pro, ASI6200MM Pro or ASI6200MC Pro by its body. The inside is lined with felt. We measured about 88.5mm across the felt, and it opens to a full 90mm when you back the knob off slightly, while still holding the camera securely.

When you'd use it
- Camera lens astrophotography: pair a 2600 or 6200 Pro with a camera lens through a ZWO lens adapter, then mount the whole rig by the camera body.
- Mounting a camera on its own: attach the camera to a dovetail bar or tripod head for testing, flats or wide-field work.
- Extra support on a heavy train: share the load between the camera and the focuser on a long imaging train.
How it installs
Loosen the M6 knob and swing the ring open on its hinge. Set the camera in, close the ring and tighten the knob until it's snug. Bolt the foot to a dovetail bar or tripod head with 1/4"-20 or M4 screws. To change the framing, loosen the knob a little, turn the camera, and tighten it again.

- A ZWO 90mm cooled camera (required): the ASI2600MM Pro, ASI2600MC Pro, ASI6200MM Pro or ASI6200MC Pro.
- ASIAIR Plus: controls the camera and mount from your phone.
- Power: the ZWO 12V 10A adapter for home, or the Celestron PowerTank Lithium Pro in the field.

Which cameras does it fit?
ZWO lists the ASI2600MM Pro, ASI2600MC Pro, ASI6200MM Pro and ASI6200MC Pro, which have 90mm bodies. The ASI294, ASI533 and other 78mm ZWO cooled cameras need the 78mm ring.
How do I attach it to my mount?
Bolt the foot to a dovetail bar or a tripod head using its 1/4"-20 or M4 holes. The ring doesn't come with a dovetail or screws.
Will it scratch my camera?
The inside is felt-lined, so it grips the body without metal-on-metal contact. Snug the knob firmly, but don't overtighten.
